Scope and Contents This small collection contains a hodgepodge of documents related to George J. LaDue's work in the glass trade in late 19th century America. Of most interest is his apprenticeship indenture contract, which bound LaDue to learn the "art, trade, and mystery of a Hollow Glass Ware Blower" at Poughkeepsie Glass Works from 1890 to 1895. Correspondence from the company to his father reveals that LaDue was considered a good apprentice but was once suspected of malingering to avoid low paying work....
