Biography
Bolislav Manikowski was born in 1892 in Kempen, Germany. Manikowski emigrated to New York in 1908. He was hired at the Steuben Glass Works by Frederick Carder in 1917, and continued under his direction until 1932, when Carder was promoted to art director of Corning Glass Works. Shifting his styles periodically due to the demands of upper management, Manikowski designed many kinds of glassware during his career, also worked as an etcher, and painted during his off-hours. Manikowski lived in Corning, New York, until his death in 1962.
