Biography

Robin Brailsford, artist and inventor of the public art / hardscape technique LithoMosaic, was born in 1953 in Boston, Massachusetts. She received her BFA in metalsmithing and sculpture from Syracuse University and her MA and MFA in sculpture from the University of New Mexico. She also trained at Pilchuck and was instrumental in organizing the first national warm glass exhibition in 1983. She founded Brailsford Public Art in 1985 and has completed public art commissions in Arizona, California, Nevada, North Carolina and Texas. Her public art has been recognized and honored by the American Institute of Architects, American Public Works Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, California Construction Association, National Endowment for the Arts, and Western Council of Construction Consumers, among others.

Brailsford's influences include Helen and Newton Harrison, Christo, and Albinus Elskus. While she works primarily as a public artist, she is also an art jeweler (RAB Jewelry).
