Biography
Born in 1895, Jaroslav Brychta was a glass sculptor and teacher at various glassmaking schools in Železný Brod. Born in 1895 and trained at the School of Applied Arts in Prague, Brychta is particularly remembered for his glass figurines. Brychta was also the father of Jaroslava Brychtová, a glass sculptor and creative partner of Stanislav Libenský.
Brychta died in 1971.

Scope and Contents
This small collection consists of three colored pencil and ink drawings by Jaroslav Brychta given to Suzanne K. Frantz by Brychta's daughter, Jaroslava Brychtová. Susanne K. Frantz was a curator at the Corning Museum of Glass. The correspondence from Brychtová to Frantz that accompanied these drawings is also in the collection. Materials are organized alphabetically and by material type. Estimated dates assigned to the drawings are based on the dates assigned to similar drawings...
