Sources provide various founding dates for Demuth Glass Works, Inc., ranging from the 1860s to the 1880s. BY the mid-1880s, the company was operating out of Brooklyn, New York. Demuth Glass Works, Inc. manufactured glass tubing and vials, light bulb and lantern globes, and glass eyes. The company's Parkersburg, West Virginia plant was acquired by Foster-Forbes Glass Co. in 1945 and sold to Brockway Glass Co. in 1952.
