Biography

The American Scientific Glassblowers Society was founded in 1952 and incorporated in 1954. According to its incorporation certificate, the Society exists for two purposes: (1) to gather and disseminate knowledge of scientific glassblowing, apparatus, and equipment, and (2) to "engender a feeling of unity and fellowship among all persons interested in the scientific glassware field."

The Society holds an annual symposium featuring seminars, papers, and workshops. The Society also publishes the journal _Fusion_.
