Biography

Charles Yockel, a German immigrant, made molds and presses for glass bottle and jar manufacturing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His business is first listed in the Philadelphia city directories in 1862, and he initially worked with business partner John Weidig. Yockel's sons eventually took over the business, which operated until the mid-1940s.
